EAGAN, Minnesota, May 7, 2021— Rivers of Recovery (RoR) is pleased to announce that the Honorable David Bernhardt, former U.S. Secretary of the Interior, was confirmed to RoR’s Board of Directors last week in a unanimous vote.
“Secretary Bernhardt’s deep experience in land use and land management for Veteran healing will be an excellent, complementary skill-set to our existing board membership,” said Jeffery Weekly, RoR Board Chair. “We are thankful for his long-standing support for our organization and the Veterans we serve.”
Bernhardt joins a board that already includes combat Veterans, former Washington DC policymakers and Veteran caregivers.

Rivers of Recovery is an innovative, national nonprofit that uses outdoor-based activities to effectively treat symptoms of post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety in combat Veterans and active-duty military. The organization has achieved national media attention for its unique programs and results-driven treatments, which combine fly fishing and other outdoor activities with a scientifically designed curriculum of therapeutic techniques.
